On Thursday, June 30, and Friday, July 1, in Digital October Center took place a two-day conference called “The Art of Going Global”.
The event was organized by Digital October and Garage Technology Ventures together with i-Free Ventures, BIT Entrepreneurship Competition and Russian Venture Company.
Main speakers at the conference were Bill Reichert and Guy Kawasaki – Managing Directors of “Garage Technology Ventures”
Bill Reichert told the audience about starting a company, being an entrepreneur and raising venture capital. Guy Kawasaki, who joined the conference virtually with telepresence, talked about how to be an enchanting person, likable and trustworthy, and how to create a great product or service.
The event was attended by entrepreneurs, early stage investors and authors of technology startups.

Guy Kawasaki is the co-founder of Alltop.com, an “online magazine rack” of popular topics on the web, and a founding partner at Garage Technology Ventures. Previously, he was the chief evangelist of Apple. A noted speaker and the founder of various personal computer companies, Guy was one of the individuals responsible for the success of the Macintosh computer. Kawasaki is the author of ten books including Enchantment, Reality Check, The Art of the Start, Rules for Revolutionaries, How to Drive Your Competition Crazy, Selling the Dream, and The Macintosh Way. He has a BA from Stanford University and an MBA from UCLA as well as an honorary doctorate from Babson College.
Bill Reichert has over 20 years of experience as an entrepreneur and an operating executive. Since joining Garage Technology Ventures in 1998, Bill has focused on early-stage information technology and materials science companies. Prior to Garage, Bill was a co-founder or senior executive in several venture-backed technology startups, including Trademark Software, The Learning Company, and Academic Systems. Bill earned a B.A. at Harvard College and an M.B.A. from Stanford University. He was a founding board member and a Chairman of the Churchill Club, and a Charter Member of the SVASE (Silicon Valley Association of Startup Entrepreneurs). Currently he is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations in New York.
